After a 3 year absence, I’m back working with the fine folks at BrandQuery. As a casualty of The Great Recession, I spent the first year of my “vacation” doing as much freelance work as I could wrangle. I was fortunate enough to find a client who provided enough steady (and creative) work to keep my mind sane and my creative chops nicely sharpened. I even learned a few new skills along the way, which I hope to implement into my second tour of duty here at BrandQuery.
Eventually, I took on another full-time design gig, working as the sole designer for a nutritional supplement brand and a line of skin care and cosmetics, both operating semi-independently under a larger, parent corporation. There, I was able to expand my design experience into packaging and retail design, another skillset I hope to someday apply to my new work with BrandQuery. The work, however, wasn’t nearly as creatively challenging and rewarding as I had experienced here at BrandQuery.
Over the years, I was able to stay in contact with Jacque and BrandQuery, following their work and seeing how my previous work had evolved and also watching exciting new projects develop. I was hopeful I would someday return…
And here I am. It’s good to be back, doing work that I enjoy and working with a great group of coworkers and clients. I’m looking forward to building upon my skills and continuing the BrandQuery tradition of enhancing brands through targeted, customized marketing and distinctive design.
It’s going to be a great year. The economy is rebounding. BrandQuery is twenty. And I’m back.
